In this piece of art Chrystabel honours the legacy of Black hair culture, focusing on the bold beauty of freeform dreadlocks from the 1980s. It speaks to a time when wearing natural hair was an act of resistance and pride. Through layered textures and abstract forms, she reflects in this series of works on how our hair carries history, identity, and a deep connection to our roots.
